A mad year!
Been a busy year with courses and a lot more gift vouchers have been posted and courses booked for this one so I’ve upgraded to two Record Power Coronet Herald lathes and new extraction in the Atelier. Couples can now turn side by side on identical machines!
I will be demonstrating at Huddersfield Woodturning club on the evening of the 13th of September.
A great spell of weather and a mad rush of courses were the order for most of July. Take a look at our student gallery page to see some of the people and pieces they have made.
Gift vouchers are available for all our courses. All our courses can be tailored to meet your needs!
York Men’s Shed
I’ll be running a hands on day for members on Tuesday 06/03/18.
I’ll be taking a couple of table top lathes to augment the two the shed possess, so hopefully everyone will get to have a go at something! Pictures to follow.
Finally got to sort out the drying shed. Stuff gets put in stick and not touching, but once it loses enough moisture it can be stacked up making more room for more wood. Had a load of Silver Birch and Sycamore hogging the shelves which has now been moved. Silver Birch has either been turned or is on the workshop shelves, and the Sycamore has been stacked!
That made room for the freshly felled Horse Chestnut, Robinia, ornamental Cherry blanks and logs, and Yew logs. I even ended up with a small empty shelf
I’m very pleased and honoured to have been accepted onto the Register of Professional Turners (RPT) To give an idea of how special this is, I applied in January 2017 and have just been confirmed as a member in December 2017! Many course vouchers have been sold in the run up to Christmas, and I’m looking forward to meeting the recipients in 2018!
It’s been a while, but busy, busy, busy! A great time was had at the Harrogate woodworking show and it was good to meet old friends and new! Take a look at our woodturning courses page for more news.
